The 2019 18u Premier team has officially been the most decorated in A’s history with players earning high praise from their respective high school leagues. We had three players named to the Seattle Times Star Times All Area Baseball Team, Three League Most Valuable Players, Eight 1st team All League, One second team, and three named honorable mention.
Dawson Baracani (Skyline HS) had a tremendous year hitting almost .600 and followed up his A’s teammate Will Simpson (4A Kingco MVP season in 2018) with a MVP season of his own! He was named the 4A Kingco Most Valuable player, 1st Team All Kingco at 3rd Base, and was also named to the Seattle Times Star Times All Area Team in the infield.
Nation Wood (Lake Washington HS) was named 2A/3A Kingco’s Most Valuable Player, a 1st Team Outfielder, and joined Baracani on the Star Times All Area team in the outfield.
Brandham Ponce (Federal Way HS) was named NPSL League MVP, and Will Armbruester (Eastside Catholic HS) was named 1st Team All Metro League and joined Baracani and Wood on the Times All Area Team.
18u Premier also features 1st team All League players in Will Simpson (Skyline HS), I’ly Hsue (Lake Washington HS), Kenji Suzuki (Eastside Catholic HS) and Cade Peterson (Bellevue Christian). Zach Sanidad was named 2nd Team All Metro, and Jacob Dahlstrom (Eastside Catholic HS), Carson Davis (Eastlake HS) and Dylan Matsuoka (Eastlake HS) were named Honorable Mention in their respective leagues.
“I’m excited to see this group of talent compete on the field together this summer. It’s going to be a really fun team to watch.”, said Head Coach Kyle Larsen. “There is a ton of talent all over the field and it will just be all about how they come together and play as a team.”, he added.
