18u’s come up short, finish 2nd at Palouse

The A’s snapped a 7 game win streak and lost 6-4 to Narrows in the Championship game at the Palouse Summer Series to take home second place. There was a big 5 unearned run inning in the second that the team could not bounce back from.

Overall this was a great showing and huge weekend for the program. The team finished 5-1, with 47 runs scored on 73 hits in the tournament.  Dax Kringle lead the team with 12 hits and 8 RBI’s, batting .500 on the weekend.

Colin Anderson lead on the mound with a complete game shutout, walking 1 batter and striking out 8.

We also want to give a big shout out to the future Cougar, Kollin Malsam, who had a great weekend playing at his future yard and in front of his college coaches for the first time after a completely new staff was hired on at WSU this month.  Kollin had 11 hits (.478 AVG), 6 RBI’s and lead the team with 10 runs scored.  Wishing him all the best this fall as he reports in for duty in Pullman.
