The 16u A’s will play tomorrow in the Championship round of the Art Wright Memorial Day tournament tomorrow. After dropping their first game 4-1 to the North Delta Blue Jays (Canada), Head Coach TJ Anderson’s squad rallied back with a convincing 9-0 win over the Kent Bulldogs on Saturday and Tyler Haselman drove in the winning run in the 6th inning today to beat the Federal Way Warriors 2-1. The 16u A’s do not know who their first opponent for tomorrow will be just yet, and will likely have to win 3 games tomorrow to take the tournament. But Anderson likes where his team is positioned. “We still have a lot of pitching left,” he said.
The 16u A’s will look to bring home the first Championship at the 16u level for the Washington Athletics program tomorrow with quarterfinal and semifinal games being played at either Rainier Beach HS or Island Crest Park. The 16u Art Wright Championship game is schedule for 5:15p tomorrow night at Island Crest Park in Mercer Island.
